This is my step by step guide to installing DDL CMS (direct download content management system). You've probably seen warez top sites like katz.cd, freshwap.net, and other "ddl forums" that offer full version downloads. A lot of these sites use phpbb forum software, wordpress, or another forum software. They split the forum up into different categories like music, movies, tv, software, and mobile apps. The topsites are a warez site, where all these ddl forum webmasters post their links.
There is a few things going on here. The uploader uploads the files to a one click hosting service, like hotfile. The uploader then posts a new post on the forum. Then they go to a site like katz.cd, which has tons of sites submitting downloads, and they submit their downloads and people can browse them and click from katz to their forum post. So the DDL topsite isn't actually providing any content themselves, they are simply indexing other sites that submit their downloads.
If you ever want to run your own warez topsite, you can, by following my step by step instructions to install DDL CMS, you'll be up and running in no time.
Getting Started
1) The first thing to do, is download the DDL cms software. Download DDL CMS . Please note you will need winrar or 7zip to extract the files. If you are not sure how to do this, maybe you should hold off on this tutorial, and get some more base computer knowledge. You can download 7zip from free. Download 7zip. After you get the DDL CMS downloaded, go ahead and extract the files. Should look something like this.
Now we need to upload the files. You will need a good ftp program, I recommend FileZilla, which you can download from here. Enter your FTP details into the program and connect to your web server. If you look in the DDL CMS folder, there will be another folder called "Upload these files to your webspace". Do not upload this folder to your server, but only everything inside of it. The easiest way to do this is go to the folder, select all the files, and drag and drop them into your ftp client window. Make sure you are dropping the files in the directory in which you want to install the script.
Okay now you wait till all the files have finished uploading. Now you can go ahead and create your MySql database. If your hosting service uses cpanel click on "MySQL Database Wizard".
Now it will ask you for your database name. For the sake of simplicity we will call it ddlcms. Then you click next. Now you have to create the database user and password. We Will call these "ddlcms" and "password", although I suggest you picking out a different password. Click Next. Your settings should look like this:
Now in your web browser type in http://www.yourdomain.com/install-3.1.php. This is how you begin the installation of the DDL CMS. You should see this screen:
Okay now in the picture above, do you see the green text? That means those steps are taken care of and everything is configured fine. Now you have to Chmod (change permissions) of the files in the list there. Those are all red text. You can change the permissions on the files in the list, and when you do the text will appear green. You have to refresh the page to see it, and if you missed one it will be left in red, so just make sure you take care of all the files.
To change permissions on files, inside of filezilla. You right click on the file you wish to edit > File Permissions.
Now a window pops up that has a bunch of X's and some numbers.
The folders listed need to be changed to 777. The longer file list has to be changed to 666. Below that it will ask you for your database name, user and password that you made in MySql earlier. You'll notice that until you chmod the files correctly (they all appear green), then you cannot click the Install button. After you change the file permissions, the Install button will appear.
Click the Install button and let it do its thing. After that you will be give a username and login url, which will probably be something like http://yoursite.com/admin , where you can edit all your detailed settings.
When I installed this script, I was surprized the simplicity of the self install. I also found there to be a lot of features, even features like advertising and other things. You can blacklist / whitelist any site you want to.
If you guys come across any trouble installing this script, post it here.

I am getting error during installation i am installing it on infiniteserve.com
error
You don’t have permission to access /ddl/install-3.2.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Sam, you may need to update the script but it sounds like a permissions problem.
you need to CHMOD the permissions to allow access to that directory . and or files.
Above in the article you can see the different files and directorys with a number like this
submit.php (644)
this means that file needs to have the permissions set o 644.
Most ftp / file managers you can right mouse click the folder / file and choose CHMOD, permissions, properties, or something similar. Then you can usually set permissions.

do you know free host who support ddlcms script?

not sure about a free host but if you are linking to warez you might have a hard time finding a free host to run ddlcms. There are cheap hosting options for offshore hosting tho.
