I have sad regret to inform you guys that the Filesonic affiliate program is dead... Yes it is sad but Filesonic collapsed with the recent Megaupload arrests. Notice the new Filesonic site....

I can only image what some people had in their account balance. Filesonic was known for paying well and some people made thousands with Filesonic, they did allow you to sell premium accounts or a pay per download mix. Good pay per sale. But not anymore. Filesonic, is dead as we know it.

I just can't believe that Filesonic is gone.. well not gone gone but hey shut down and I bet hey stole everybody's money too! If you guys lost some money in your Filesonic account, and you feel like voicing your opinion and you can tell us how much they took, etc. Right now my account looks fucked.

I know some of you may be in shock.. it feels like a weird paranoia is spreading around the file hosting and file sharing. Are we letting  this happen in front of our eyes? Are we just going to sit back while the US (our own) country sticks it to us? What about other countries? Are they going to allow the United States have jurisdiction anywhere? I hope not but I think we now live in a police state,... the world tha is.

FIlesonic closing their affiliate program is  probably not a good sign. Some of you might have to find a real job ... I'm glad I just got paid out about a week ago, so I only lost like a dime again. But i know some of you have made a lot with filesonic, and now, Filesonic Is Closed!

Oh I take it back, you can store your files there for only you to access them,? Is this their new business model? Let us know what you think please I don't know what to make of all this.

To be honest I can't really blame them.. Look at what just happened. I wouldn't want American users to visit my site anytime soon either. When the US Government and law enforcement cross international borders, nobody wants to mess with America and it's Nazi

No more Fileserve money

Actually they removed the whole earnings tab. At a webmaster forum, Wjunction.com, Fileserve uploaders were complaining that Fileserve didn't pay out their money before they shut down.

Thats right, if you had money in your fileserve account, it's gone forever! Some uploaders reported losing hundreds of dollars, while myself, I only lost about 1 dollar.

Just goes to show that you can never trust a filehost, not even fileserve, because if they get in hot water they will steal your money from your account and close the affiliate program. They didn't even post anything to users at all (probably because they are paranoid with the recent Megaupload bust)

Did you lose any money from fileserve? If you did post it here or your opinions. The least fileserve could of done is warn their users, or at least attempt a payout so uploaders can receive their money.

What is in the future for file hosting and uploading for money? Only time will tell!

It is a shame that the US government can do whatever they want.. but if you read the indictment, the owners of Megaupload were so stupid. Several parts of the indictment say instances where the owners of Megaupload were uploading copyright content themselves.. and not removing every DCMA complaint.

Here is a few instances:

"On or about October 4, 2007, BENCKO sent VAN DER KOLK an e-mailmessage entitled “pls” requesting “can u pls get me some links to the series called ‘Seinfeld’from MU?"

Come on bro! You've made millions of dollars from your Internet business, why not just pay for Seinfeld.

Here is another instance of stupidity, also in the indictment.

"On or about August 31, 2006, VAN DER KOLK sent an e-mail to an associate entitled “lol”. Attached to the message was a screenshot of a Megaupload.com filedownload page for the file “Alcohol 120 1.9.5 3105complete.rar” with a description of “Alcohol120, con crack!!!! By ChaOtiX!”. The copyrighted software “Alcohol 120” is a CD/DVDburning software program sold by www.alcohol-soft.com."

Geez. Now if that doesn't define the definition of stupid. You own Megaupload.com, and have made hundreds of millions of dollars. Why would you be taking screenshots of these things and laughing.

Another thing, why in the hell would you be communicating about these things on email. Email is transparent.

" For the 180 days up to and including the date of this Indictment, membersof the Conspiracy infringed by electronic means, including by means of the Internet, more thanten copies of one or more copyrighted works which had a total retail value of more than $2,500for purposes of private financial gain. In part, copies of copyright-infringing works weredownloaded by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (“FBI”) and other participatingfederal agencies from the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center in Arlington,Virginia, from computer servers controlled by the Mega Conspiracy, since approximatelyMarch 2010, when federal law enforcement began their investigation"

Okay so the feds have been watching them for at least 180 days but he indictment has things from back in 2006. Megaupl0ad was very dumb. I think they just made too much money. Even though I am furious and I think it's wrong of the federal government but come on people you've got to be smarter than that.

Megaupload felt the success and had millions of dollars and didn't protect themselves. They got stupid. Megaupload owners thought they were truly untouchable.

Let this be a lesson! They can't bust everybody, but they usually just skim a few off the top. Now that Megaupload is gone, they probably have Universal off their back, everything will go back to normal. Until the next wave of busts.

The smaller the file hosting site, the better. If your a file host, if you get too big you have to take steps to remove illegal content. For smaller file hosts you can continue just deleting DMCA files when requested.

US government is on some BS. Let us know what you think.

Digital Fingerprinting and what it does is as soon as there is a DMCA complaint, they takedown the files. Then any other files that are uploaded with he same digital fingerprints will automatically be deleted.

This is one thing that is a hassle with Filesonic. The time your files and links stay up is less than Fileserve / Filepost. If you upload a lot of stuff you should probably just go ahead and make a backup folder, then if they remove the files you can just re-upload it again. You may want to compress the file into a .zip and change the MD5-that might help keep your links alive longer.

Hate em or love em, Filesonic is probably the preferred file host.. or at least he most popular, among up-loaders and down-loaders. The last Filesonic review I wrote had comments from readers with different opinions. Filesonic is aging and has been around for awhile, let's hope they don't pull a Hotfile on us.

There are so many warez forums out there it makes me sick (LOL). Most of them want you to register before you can even view topics. That is the only downfall of warez forums. Usually on most forums anybody can post downloads, which can bring a lot of b.s. (corrupt rars, password protected files, wrong or mislabeled content, virus/malware, ect). If you browse the forums you can probably get a feel for who the "trusted" uploaders are.
